Title: The Simplest Explanation of Global Warming Ever Author: Ethan Siegel Source: Forbes Date: January 2, 2019 URL: https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2019/01/02/the-simplest-explanation-of-global-warming-ever/#1b88665632b1 The two things that determine Earth's temperature are the energy that we get from the Sun, and the energy that we reflect. Clouds, dry sand, and icecaps reflect sunlight while oceans, forests, wet soil, and Savannah's are good at absorbing sunlight. However, that is not the only thing affecting our temperature. There are some gasses in our atmosphere that prevent the energy from escaping. These gasses are methane and carbon dioxide. The more of these gasses there are, the less heat that escapes, making our temperature warmer. Humans have significantly increased CO2 in our atmosphere, which is a huge factor in our planet warming. It is not definitive that humans are the only reason for global warming, but we are definitely contributing to it

Title: A Grave Climate Warning, Buried on Black Friday Author: Robinson Meyer Date: November 23, 2018 Source: The Atlantic URL: https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2018/11/national-climate-assessment-black-friday/576589/?fbclid=IwAR37LvUx7tax1NGEon0G7PgEH393W6hUvGUnmrS6gwJvtoxKuRMFusO7-EY In the eve of the most important shopping day of the year, the National Climate Assessment was dropped to the public. In it were huge claims made about the impact and status of climate change to the world. It discussed how climate change will kill thousands and cost hundreds of billions if not addressed. It also discussed how the fires we saw in California will increase, people's harvests would suffer, and sea level will rise in several different places. This will lead to an economic crisis, not just in the United States, but worldwide. This Assessment strongly goes against the tranquil response of the federal government and President Trump, who seem to be brushing off climate change

Title: The Relationship Between the ZikaVirus and Climate Change Author: Oghenekaro Omodior and Daniel Becker Date: October 23, 2018 Source: Inverse URL: https://www.inverse.com/article/50124-what-s-causing-the-rise-in-mosquito-and-tick-borne-diseases?fbclid=IwAR1OWInf3UhNUp4oBjiVx0YV63vURvA6LLi_pMS2YyMNFa-NIchOrktlYig We know that climate change is happening all around us and we know that there have been outbreaks of the Zika Virus, but did you know that they could be connected? The most common way diseases are spread is by humans being exposed to ticks and mosquitos that carry the disease. Climate records show that when there were sudden temperature changes, there was also an influx of tick born infections. In South America, there were extreme climatic conditions and the following month, the Zika Virus spread in the same areas. While it seems that these two evens are directly correlated, we don't know that for sure. There could be other contributing factors to the spread of
